Online Behaviour and Cyberbullying

1.4

Intro

'Online Behaviour and Cyberbullying' is the aspect of the 'Citizenship' strand with which you will be most familiar.

In Year 3 we focus on the different types of cyberbullying and how to deal with them, and on how to communicate appropriately online.

Framework

1.4 - Online Behaviour and Cyber-bullying

  • Explain the similarities and differences between offline and online communications, e.g. follow the same rules when communicating face-to-face and online; discuss how online communication can be misinterpreted
  • compose clear and appropriate messages in online communities
  • identify different forms of bullying, including cyberbullying, and suggest strategies for dealing with it, e.g. screenshot, block, report.

Vocabulary

kind     appropriate     cyberbullying     communicate     online     offline

The Citizenship strand is slightly different from the other three in that it focuses as much on information as it does on skills. There are also Online Safety year-by-year schemes of learning created by South West Grid for Learning on behalf of the Welsh Government which cover much of the Citizenship strand. This resource can be found on Hwb (link below)
